Washcloths are a perfect project for beginner crocheters. These washcloths whip up so fast and are super easy to make. They are great as gifts, for craft fairs, or as donations. You’ll love making these not only for yourself but for others.
Why washcloths???
Why not! We all have washcloths in our homes as essentials. We use them in the kitchen and the bathroom. That’s the beauty of this dishcloth; they are very versatile in our everyday needs.
These washcloths are made with 100% soft cotton yarn. Cotton is a great fiber to use. It’s strong and durable. It’s also super absorbent and drys quickly. You can use pretty much any brand of soft cotton yarn that you like. I like using a bulky #5 cotton yarn for my washcloths. You can certainly double up the strands if you have a thinner cotton yarn and want a thicker washcloth.
As a newer crocheter myself, I found that crocheting washcloths can be one of the easiest projects you can ever do. If you were to look up crochet washcloths, you’d find many different stitch style patterns on the web. But, for this pattern, I’m keeping it pretty basic. The only stitch you’ll need to know for this washcloth pattern is the double crochet. Pretty simple right? So grab your crochet hook, and let’s start crocheting!
